I created the charity Kleats 4 Kids. Kleats 4 Kids is a non-profit that
collects and donates gently used cleats or athletic shoes to children in the
Pontiac School District who don't have or can't afford cleats. We recently just
collected the donation boxes from all four campuses during our latest
cleat/shoe drive, and have started to clean and tag them to get ready for
donation. The DCDS community came out in full force and we collected over 150
pair of cleats and shoes. Our initial impact will be greatly appreciated in the
school district. I had a great time decorating our donation boxes, cleaning and
tagging the cleats, and will have a fun time donating them to the Pontiac
School District and see the children use them. I am grateful to everyone at DCDS who helped to make a difference and look forward to continuing to help kids particpate in sports through the future work of Kleats 4 Kids. ~Ryan Luft '19
