Linda Engler- Middle School Faculty Member & Proud Parent of a DCDS Graduate

Linda Engler began her involvement in the scouting adventure in 2001 when her son, Chris Akinin, came home in the first grade and announced that he wanted to join Cub Scouts so he could shoot a bow and arrow as well as a BB gun. Little did she know at that moment how rewarding her time spent in scouting would be with not only her own son, but other boys and adults. Linda Engler has served as a Den Leader for Pack 1016, and continues to serve as an Assistant Scoutmaster, Merit Badge Counselor as well as Troop Committee Chair for Troop 1032. Through scouting, Linda has observed the growth of character, responsibility, communication, cooperative team work, leadership and community service as well as the enjoyment of nature and exploring new possible life-long hobbies among young boys into their teen years. Scouting offers all boys an opportunity to shine and grow into wonderful citizens of tomorrow. Linda can’t think of another youth program which can offer all this in one package and she is proud to be a volunteer in the Scouting Program.
