Cindy Shannon Class of 1978 & Current Parent

I am a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Orange County. Having gone through 30 hours of training, a judge in the Juvenile Court system appointed me as a CASA for a child in the Child Welfare System. I am currently in my third year of service and working with my second child. As a CASA, I am assigned to one child at a time who is a ward of the state of California. Our role is to advocate for the needs of our child, representing them within the court system, in foster care or group homes and within the educational environment.
