Junior School Students
This winter twenty two
girls from the Junior School met every Friday after school for the
Dresses for Haiti PM. They brought their own fabric and ribbon and
worked each week to produce a dress for a girl in Haiti who was less
fortunate. Each week the girls broke into different centers. Some girls
were cutting out the fabric using a pattern. Some girls were sewing with
a volunteer and some girls were writing a letter to put in the pocket
of the dress for the girl in Haiti. Volunteers included moms and
grandmas! We put an all call out to the families for volunteers and the
response was overwhelming. Each week the classroom was a buzz with
excitement as the girls moved through the different stations with the
volunteers to complete the task. On February 26 the girls gathered for
the last time to celebrate their accomplishment! Each girl made a dress
with a letter in the pocket. Photos were taken, pizza was eaten and
everyone celebrated a job well done.
